Leon, the last big town and cultural high point before arriving in Santiago.
Early morning starts are my favorite, and today was no exception. The air is cool and and the world is asleep. This is when you get to see the sky come alive and the wildlife that is normally hiding during the heat of the day

hitting Leon, we had lots of old Roman road to walk, about 20 km worth and each opportunity we had to stop and drink something, we took.

Once again a hard hot day, punctuated by industrial zones and the highways leading into the city.
The sprawl of this town seemed to go on and on as we pounded the paved streets which isn’t kind to your joints, especially with all that weight on your back.
You can see the Cathederal popping out just behind the hill as we crossed highways and byways coming in
