Templarios to Sahagún and ontoBercianos del Real Cam8no

5/31/19
A 25 km day which is close to what we are averaging. We try to do 30 km(19 miles) a day, towns permitting.
Hullo, from two hot sweaty pilgrims who stopped for a break and breakfast  at 7 am today
Sahagún is considered the half way point of the Spanish section of the Camino, for us, we crossed our mid way point two days ago. Sahagún was a very important political, religious, and cultural center, but very few traces of that remain today. Sahagún had the most important Benedictine Monastery in Spain until the 19th Century. This is one of the few towns that you will still find a bull ring.
Walking today minding my own business, and I was mugged by a gang of sheep, my had been in their hood and not realized it
Sneaky buggers,,,,,,,here they are creeping up on me
Our Alburgues last night was not the best, when you cram over 10 people in A room, it gets very very hot, and some idiot closed the windows, then the door when we fell asleep. To help things, Bill had an adult Korean under him in his bunk bed. The Korean slept fully clothed in what he had hiked in all day. He got up every two hours through the night to smoke, would come back in and flop down on his back, shaking the bunk, then he would exhale to relax, Bill got all the cigarette breath and felt like he was sleeping in an ashtray. As irritated as I was, I still giggled every time he did this as I could hear Bill grumble under his breath” you mother f——-“. There is a good part to this story,,,,,thankfully the Korean couldn’t understand a single, even bad word, of English.
Three long legged pilgrims on the road to Santiago at sun up this morning

I’m tired and hungry as today has been a long very hot, flat haul, not much to talk about or photo, I’ve had enough bread to last a lifetime, what I need is a cool Citrus beer at my favorite watering hole in Hilton Head from Paul, Jen Or Josh, and if Mike would friggin cook some on a day I’m there, I’d die for the best Brisket on the island.
I guess it’s going to be something with bread again tonight.
Found some old underground dwellings coming into Sahagún, they seem popular in this area.
My protector today
