Villafranca del Bierzo

6/8/19

Another sacrifice to the Camino gods

A euros worth of fresh cherries I purchased from a man on the side of the street

Vineyards were all through this section of my walk

I took an alternative route today which added a few miles and hills, but I got to walk through a more beautiful part of the region as you can see from the above photos.
Castillo Palacio de los Marquises, now a hostel where I slept last time through

Convento. De la Anunciado

It’s old and needs help, you know what I’m thinking

Today was warmer by comparison, and was therefore a more pleasant hike, also the town of Villafranca is beautiful, so I kept going with no stops till I got here. Just had a great dinner of chicken, salad and fries in the town square, so early to bed as tomorrow is a bear, a 1300 meter (4265 ft) climb to O Cabreiro over about 28 kL, I’m thinking we may stop a little short of our goal if we get too tired as we have time on our side
