We had spent the night in a private unit and cooled our own meal of spaghetti and other stuff, shared a bottle of wine and went to bed early

the plan was to have a three hour hike into Burgos and spend the day sight seeing.
The walk in was good but Kaz is having foot issues, so maybe a short day is a good idea.

Unfortunately my photos are not accessible right now so I’ll add them later. burgos is also considered the gastronomy capital of Spain. We spent the day after arriving, visiting the magical castles, churches and monasteries which populate this town.

| From the castle |
After visiting the cathedral, we hiked up to the fort which gave a great view of the city. It was occupied by the French through the 1800s, and the Spanish war of independence, eventually the British intervened and Wellington drove the French out. Upon leaving the castle they set charges and blew up the rear sections which is a shame as it’s beautiful. Now when you hear the French ask, “ why doesn’t anyone like us”,,,,,,well,,,there it is, your bad sports, and behave badly when you lose,,,,,,,!
